Stephen Bradley overcame a serious accident at the 1992 Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event to defend his title at Canada's Checkmate International and earn his first berth on a U.S. Olympic squad. In 1990, he was named the Combined Training Horseman of the Year by the Chronicle of the Horse, and placed 9th for the U.S. Combined Training Association Horseman of the Year award. Throughout his stellar career, Bradley has enjoyed numerous victories, including winning the 1993 Burghley CCI**** on Sassy Reason, and successfully capturing the Checkmate International crown three years in a row (1991, 1992, and 1993). He started the 1996 Olympic year by winning the Rolex/USET Three-Day Event Spring Championship at the Rolex Kentucky Three Day Event in Lexington, KY, on Dr. Dolittle.
